The Volleyball Association of Serbia (OSS) officially denied that a new coach for the Serbian women's national team has been selected and that Giovanni Guidetti has been fired.
The Serbian volleyball players were eliminated in the quarterfinals of the Olympic Games in Paris by Italy with a score of 3:0. After the match, Guidetti stated that his contract with the Serbian Volleyball Federation had expired and that he believed the match against Italy was his last as coach of Serbia.

The announcement states that the Serbian Volleyball Federation, like any serious organization, will first analyze the results of the senior women's and men's national teams in the competitions played this year, after which it will make decisions in the shortest possible time in the interest of the future and development of Serbian volleyball and will inform the public about them.

"We are proud of the results of our volleyball players over the last decade, we are proud of the state's help to the volleyball players and the conditions provided to them for training, preparation and travel, as well as the fact that they regularly responded to call-ups and fought for the emblem of Serbia. Unfortunately, this time there was no result, but Serbian volleyball has a future and an opportunity to return to the podium at the next major competitions!" emphasized the press release of the Serbian Volleyball Association.
