Allianz Milano achieved an impressive home victory with a 3:1 (22:25, 25:19, 25:21, 28:26) score over Vero Volley Monza in one of the most interesting matches of the final round of the Italian SuperLega. The hero of the Lombardy derby was the Belgian international Ferre Reggers, who played a truly phenomenal match and finished with 35 points (3 blocks, 3 aces) in just four sets.
How the match unfolded
Monza started better and won the first set 25:22, thanks to stable play in attack and good defensive organization. In the second, however, the hosts from Milano increased their aggression in serve and attack, which brought them an equalizer after a 25:19 score.
