Simeon Nikolov: "I rested well, I am motivated to win again! I already know a few words in Russian"

Bulgarian setter Simeon Nikolov made his first comment after his Lokomotiv Novosibirsk's victory against Gazprom-Yugra (Surgut), with which the Siberian team confidently started the new round of the Russian Super League.

After the match, Nikolov spoke to the club media, demonstrating excellent spirits and readiness for the upcoming challenges.

🗣️ Nikolov's statement

"I feel good. I rested well and now I am motivated again to play and win matches",
shared the Bulgarian, who joined Lokomotiv after a short break and a trip from Bulgaria to Russia.

When asked if the long flight to Novosibirsk had affected him, Moni smiled:
"No, it was perfect. The flight went quickly, I slept a lot. I need to get used to the time here a bit, but I'm sure there won't be a problem."

Regarding his first training sessions with the team, Nikolov commented:
"The ball is different, I hadn't seen or touched it before, but it's completely normal. After a few training sessions, everything will be fine."

The arena in Novosibirsk also made a strong impression on the young Bulgarian:
"It's very beautiful, the colors are like the Bulgarian flag – white, green, and red. It's extremely comfortable to play here. I can't wait to play in front of the fans for the next match. See you soon!"

😊 A small language lesson

When asked by the reporter if he had already learned anything in Russian, and specifically asked not to say any swear words, Moni Nikolov replied with a smile:

"How are you, I want pizza, thank you, goodbye!"

His answer provoked laughter and applause from those present – a sign that the Bulgarian is quickly adapting not only on the court but also off it.
