The Management Board of the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation will convene for a meeting on June 7 to decide whether to call an extraordinary reporting and election assembly, volleyweek learned. As already announced, 10 elite clubs have supported this request, with the total number of clubs that have signed being 52, which is sufficient for it to be considered. Only Levski and DEYA abstained. The request is for the replacement of the entire Management Board and the election of a new President of the federation. If no decision is made on June 7 to convene a general assembly, such an assembly will be scheduled ex officio by the court, the initiators threatened. There was a plan for such an assembly to be convened in the autumn, but the protesters did not agree to such a postponement. A new concept for the election of Management Board members, as well as a long-term program for the development of volleyball, will be proposed by the initiators of the letter for convening an extraordinary general assembly. Dissatisfaction is brewing over the possibility of people who are on the federation's staff also holding positions on the Management Board. There are indications that the head of the Volleyball League, Zhivko Zhelev, is considering leaving his post. A meeting of the four vice-presidents of the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation is expected today, at which the current situation will also be discussed.
