Senior coach of Beroe volleyball team Miroslav Zhivkov stated in an interview for BTA that the main goal of the team is to maintain its place among the leading teams in Bulgaria, consistently following the building process that led the club to the highest level.
After resting in the first round of Super Volley, the team from Stara Zagora will visit Cherno More in Varna tomorrow. Zhivkov admitted he was pleased with the players' effort in pre-season training but expressed concern about personnel issues. The Tunisian Mahdi Bentaher has not yet arrived, and several volleyball players have minor injuries that put their participation in the match in question.
The coach expects a tough match in Varna and insists on maximum concentration and motivation from his players. He emphasized that Beroe is currently forming an almost entirely new squad with two new setters and changes among the receivers:
“We have players with potential, but their adaptation requires time and work.”
Zhivkov also drew attention to Beroe's upcoming participation in the European Challenge Cup, where their opponent will be Slovan (Bratislava) – with the first match at home on November 11 and an away game on November 19:
“They have the best volleyball players in Slovakia, but we will try to put up the best possible resistance.”
In conclusion, the specialist commented on the results of the first round of Super Volley, describing them as expected and predicting a balanced championship where consistency and the health of the squads will be crucial.
