Georgi Tatarov: "Both teams played poorly, but Cisterna was a little better today, we are going for three points in Padua."

Following the 2:3 (25:21, 20:25, 25:22, 20:25, 9:15) loss to Cisterna Volley, Grottazzolina and national team outside hitter Georgi Tatarov commented on the match for the club TV, showing his typical frankness. The Bulgarian admitted that his team did not perform at their usual level and missed numerous opportunities to close out the match in their favor.

The problem was that we didn't play as we usually do. We can perform much better in reception and serving. They made a lot of mistakes, but we failed to capitalize on them. Especially in attack, we should have scored more points. Ultimately, they were just slightly better, even though neither team played a particularly strong match," Tatarov stated.

On Sunday, Grottazzolina will visit Padua, and the Bulgarian outside hitter is adamant that the team will be looking for its first SuperLega success.

We are going to Padua to win. This is a very important match – as is every other, of course – but now we are extra motivated to achieve our first victory. We will give our best," he concluded.

Georgi Tatarov demonstrated realism and self-criticism – something rarely seen among young players in Italy. Despite Grottazzolina's hesitant play, his statement shows confidence and maturity. After the team has already lost two matches in a tie-break, the upcoming clash with Padua will have not only psychological but also strategic value for the remainder of the season.
