The Italian Volleyball League officially confirmed thatThe Del Monte® Supercup 2025will not be held according to the original schedule. The tournament, which was supposed to beon November 7 and 8inDammam, Saudi Arabia, has beenpostponed to the Christmas period, due to "organizational reasons related to the better execution of the event". The decision was madeat the request of the Saudi Volleyball Federation, jointly with the Lega Serie A.
📍 First edition outside Italy
The Del Monte® Supercoppa 2025 was supposed to go down in history asthe first edition of the trophy held outside Italy. The choice ofDammam (in the eastern part of Saudi Arabia) was accepted as part of the strategy for internationalizing Italian volleyball — including for promoting the championship in key markets in the Middle East.
The competition was supposed to be held in aFinal Fourformat, with two semi-final matches on Friday (November 7) and a final the next day.

The four teams that were supposed to compete for the trophy are the best of the ItalianSuperLega:

🕓 Reasons for postponement
The official announcement from the League and the clubs is laconic:
"For organizational reasons related to the better conduct of the event, the competition will be rescheduled for the Christmas period."
According to Italian media (volleyball.it,dallarivolley.com) it concernslogistical difficulties, related to the coordination between the Italian clubs, the tournament sponsors (Del Monte®) and the new host — the Saudi Federation. A more convenient time window is probably being sought to combine promotional and television commitments.
📅 What's next
The new dateshave not yet been announced, but the tournament is expected to take placein the period around Christmas— in late December. The venue (Dammam) and the format ("Final Four") for nowremain unchanged.
The Serie A Volleyball League promises to publish a specific program and television schedule "in the coming days".
