CSKA's middle blocker Kaya Nikolova will transfer to the ranks of champion Maritsa Plovdiv, volleyweek.bg has learned. Nikolova is owned by CSVK and was loaned to the 'Reds', where she played for the last two seasons. Kaya made a decent debut with the women's national team in the VNL this summer when Lorenzo Micelli surprisingly called her up for the third week of the commercial tournament. Currently, Kaya is with the U20 women's national team, who are playing in the home European Championship, but she is not in the starting six.

Maritsa was forced to look for a middle blocker after it became clear that European champion Darina Naneva would play in Serbia next season.
At the same time, information appeared on the champions' website that volleyball player Aleksa Emilova, from the VC Maritsa (Plovdiv) academy, will be part of the women's team for the 2024-2025 campaign. Aleksa plays as a middle blocker and has competed in the women's volleyball elite, having been loaned to the champions' reserve team - Maritsa 2022 (Plovdiv), where she spent the last two seasons. The young volleyball player has two titles with Maritsa's senior girls - for the 2023-2024 and 2022-2023 seasons. She has been part of national teams in various age groups. In 2022, she won silver at the Balkan Championship with the U17 national team. She also participated in the U17 European Championship in '22, where the national team finished 6th.

Aleksa Emilova becomes the 15th volleyball player for the champions in the new season, following Zhana Todorova, Borislava Saykova, Dobrina Hristoskova, Victoria Koeva, Iva Dudova, Lora Slavcheva, Margarita Guncheva, Mila Pashkuleva, Boryana Angelova, Vanessa Agbortabi, Alexandra Kitipova, Yoana Dokova, Ralina Doshkova, and Diyana Borisova, according to VC Maritsa Plovdiv's website.
