Nationals Georgi Tatarov and Iliya Petkov and their Grottazzolina team suffered their second loss in the Italian A1 Series championship, which started at the beginning of this week. The team from the Marche region failed to resist the visitors from Rana Verona, who, led by Slovenian Rok Možič and Brazilian Darlan Souza, won the match 3:0 (25:21, 25:17, 25:20).
Iliya Petkov played the entire match, finishing with 4 points from attack. Georgi Tatarov entered briefly in the second set, then started the third set in the main lineup and finished with 6 points (1 ace). Rok Možič (1 block, 1 ace) and Darlan Souza (2 blocks, 4 aces) each scored 13 points for the victory. Verona's other star, Noumory Keita, finished with a modest 8 points (2 blocks, 1 ace).
The "batteries'" next match is on October 29, when they will visit Cisterna Volley.
