A new challenge and a new home

Minaya, who until now has never left the Spanish league, admits that the decision to play in Bulgaria was quick and definitive. "When CSKA called me, I didn't hesitate. This is a big club, with a serious history and traditions. I know that the legends of Bulgarian volleyball were built here, and the fact that Rafa Pascual played in the red jersey says everything about the class of this team," shares the experienced Spaniard.

Vicente already feels at home in Sofia. He likes the calmness, the atmosphere, and his colleagues, with whom he quickly found a common language. "Teammates and coaches accepted me wonderfully, I adapted easily. The city is big but hospitable, and the weather is wonderful," he says.

Balance between youth and experience

The Spaniard does not hide his admiration for CSKA's squad: "Here there are many young boys with great potential and a bright future. At the same time, there are also experienced players, former internationals. This combination of youthful energy and maturity can bring success."

For Minaya, this is the key to a strong season – balance and mutual trust. His experience from the Spanish elite can help young players grow faster and provide stability in crucial moments of matches.

Clear goal – Europe

CSKA's new setter is crystal clear about his goals:
"First and foremost, I want to help the team qualify for European tournaments. Finishing in the top three is a priority. This will be the first step, and after that, we can think about more."

During the "Boris Gyuderov" Cup tournament, the Spaniard already became acquainted with the level of competition. "We played against Levski and Lokomotiv – strong opponents with quality volleyball players. The season will be tough, but we have the potential to fight with anyone. Every single one of us is ready," he asserts.

"I hope the audience will be with us, especially in the first match against Montana. We need their support to start the season with a win and confidence," appeals Minaya.

The Spanish veteran promises full dedication on the field and belief that with joint efforts CSKA can restore the glory of the "red" academy.
