Maritsa started with a convincing victory over Levski in the new season of NVL - women

The champions from Maritsa (Plovdiv) started confidently in defense of their title, after convincingly defeating Levski (Sofia) with 3:0 sets (25:15, 25:16, 25:22) in the first round of the National Volleyball League for women. The match was played in the "Stroitel" hall in Plovdiv.

Match development

The Plovdiv team started with more concentration and quickly built up a lead at 10:5, relying on their powerful serve and stable defense. After 17:7, the hosts completely controlled the game and won the first set with 25:15.

In the second set, the two teams went point for point until 14:13 in favor of Maritsa. However, a series of serves by Iva Dudova led to a crucial break and a five-point lead – 18:13. This predetermined the outcome of the set, which ended at 25:16.

The third set offered more intrigue. After 11:10, the hosts again pulled ahead to 16:10, but Levski responded with a surge and even took a 22:20 lead. In the decisive minutes, the "yellow-blues" showed greater maturity and class to close out the match with 25:22 and record a clean victory.
