On Saturday, October 18, the next edition of the induction ceremony will take place in Massachusetts
Volleyball legends are preparing for a new glorious chapter, reports the Italian online volleyball daily volleyball.it. Tomorrow evening, the International Volleyball Hall of Fame will welcome nine new members and honor five distinguished individuals during an induction ceremony in Massachusetts – the city where volleyball originated.
Among the stars of the evening will be Italian legend Francesca Piccinini, who becomes the first true Italian participant in the Hall of Fame, as before her, the Cuba-born naturalized former 'Squadra Azzurra' player Tay Aguero entered the list.
Massachusetts recalls that Francesca Piccinini rose to prominence at the 2002 World Championship, when she was instrumental in the 3:2 game victory over the USA in the final. The triumph also proved historic for 'Squadra Azzurra', as it was the country's first from a women's World Championship.
'Piccinini has been the voice of Italy since 2002' – add the Hall of Fame, also summarizing her other great successes at national and club level over the years.
The induction ceremony will take place on October 18, 2025, at 6:30 PM Bulgarian time. The event will be broadcast live on the Volleyball World YouTube channel and on the organization's website – IVHF.org.
