Levski Sofia's center Lazar Buchkov awaits tomorrow's Bulgarian Supercup semifinal against Beroe with confidence and optimism.
🔵Confident start and good preparation
Buchkov shared that the Levski team feels confident and prepared for the first official challenge of the season. The team started preparations in early August, training intensively and with high concentration.
“This is our first test – we’ll see how ready we are, but we enter with self-confidence.”
👥 Cohesive team and good atmosphere
Although some of the national team players joined later, Buchkov emphasized that there is no problem with understanding within the squad. He has known most of his teammates for a long time, which has facilitated team building.
“I've played with these guys for a long time – there’s no need for adaptation, the atmosphere is excellent.”
🏠 The advantage of being a host
The center admitted that the match brings additional pressure because a trophy is at stake, but home advantage and public support will be a key factor.
“When a title is involved, the pressure is greater, but we are hosts and the fans will help us.”
🌍 The experience from the USA
Buchkov, who has spent time in the United States, shared that this experience broadened his perspective and made him more mature as a person and an athlete.
“I saw a different approach to volleyball and life – this opened me up, I'm no longer just narrowly focused on one place.”
Levski's young center enters the semifinal against Beroe with confidence, calmness, and positive energy. Buchkov believes that the rejuvenated squad is ready to fight for the trophy, relying on good preparation, a cohesive team, and strong support from the stands.
