Matey Kaziyski might join the Turkish Halkbank, where Radoslav Stoychev is the head coach. This surprising transfer was hinted at in a post on the X platform (formerly Twitter) by one of the leading Polish volleyball journalists, Jakub Balcerzak. The news spread through Italian and Turkish media. The Turkish club has not disclosed the duration of the new contract.
Currently, Kaziyski is part of Lokomotiv Plovdiv's squad, which is preparing for the upcoming Bulgarian Super Cup matches scheduled for the weekend. According to Balcerzak's information, the Bulgarian volleyball player might leave for Turkey as early as next week, where he would become a teammate of Tsvetan Sokolov.

We recall that Kaziyski, Sokolov, and Stoychev have previously been part of the Turkish powerhouse Halkbank, with whom they won numerous trophies, but the three of them have not been together on the team in our southern neighbor. If the transfer goes through, the volleyball world will witness the reunion of the trio 12 years later – a symbolic revival of the 'golden Trento model'.

"For now, Matey's status is clear – he is part of Lokomotiv and as such will participate in the Super Cup matches," commented forvolleyweek.bg the manager of the Plovdiv team, Lyudmil Naydenov. "After these matches, if there's a change, we will inform you," he further clarified.
Kaziyski's contract includes a clause that allows him to leave the Bulgarian team for a better offer from abroad. We also recall that even before he signed with Lokomotiv, Italian media mentioned his name as a possible option for the Italian champion – Trento, to replace the injured Daniele Lavia.
What will happen with our best volleyball player from the recent past remains to be seen. The important thing is that fans will be able to see him in the 'Levski-Sofia' hall this Saturday and possibly Sunday – because afterwards they might not have that opportunity.
