New tie-break and new defeat for Valefolia - Stoyanova with a brief appearance, Mitkova did not enter the game

Megabox Ondulati del Savio Vallefoglia once again played a five-set match, but this time also failed to secure a victory – 2:3 (21:25, 25:21, 23:25, 27:25, 10:15) against Il Bisonte Florence. Andrea Pistola's team could not capitalize on their home advantage against an opponent fully within their capabilities, and were even on the verge of finishing without a point after the visiting team had a match point in the fourth set.

After the match, head coach Andrea Pistola stated:

"Congratulations to Florence, who played a good and organized match. I expected more from my team – both in terms of character and attack development. We started stiff and without confidence, there was a lack of attack through the middle, and the opposites struggled to find their rhythm. We were predictable, and that made it easier for the opponent. We need a lot of work to find order and automatism in our game."

🇧🇬 Bulgarian participation

Bulgarian international Mikaela Stoyanova appeared briefly in the game and scored 1 point in attack, making 4 errors. Middle blocker Tsvetomira Mitkova remained on the bench and did not participate in the match.

🌟 MVP and key performances

The top scorer for Florence was Dutch player Jolien Knollema, who finished with 23 points and was chosen as the MVP of the match. She was almost flawless in attack, with 45% efficiency and 3 blocks, proving to be the key factor in the visitors' success.

📊 Match statistics

Florence asserted superiority in offense and demonstrated greater stability in decisive moments. The key difference was Knollema's effectiveness, as she dominated both in attack (opposite position) and defense. Vallefoglia showed fighting spirit, but their slower organizational speed and errors in attack deprived them of success.

🔜 Next match

On October 15, Vallefoglia will visit Numia Vero Volley Milano at the "Opiquad Arena" in Monza. Milan, the Italian vice-champions, come after a surprising tie-break loss to Chieri and will be looking for revenge. Stefano Lavarini's squad, led by Paola Egonu, Anna Danesi, Hena Kurtagic, and Khalia Lanier, is among the strongest in Serie A1 – a true test for Vallefoglia and the Bulgarians Stoyanova and Mitkova.
