The son of former Bulgarian national coach Martin Stoev – Erik Stoev – will continue his career in Italy. The 21-year-old outside hitter signed a contract with Uni Bari Volley, which will compete in Serie B in the new season.
Born in 2003, Erik Stoev already has accumulated international experience, having played in Bulgaria, Spain, and Saudi Arabia. With the Bulgarian youth national team (U22), he participated in the 2024 European Championship, where he demonstrated a solid performance and established his name as one of the promising Bulgarian talents in the outside hitter position.
I am very happy to start this new adventure with Uni Bari Volley, Stoev said during his presentation. Even after the first training sessions, I felt great enthusiasm and an ambitious project that I believe in. The city has already given me a lot of energy, and I am sure that the fans will support us to achieve great things.
The management of the Bari club described the transfer as a quality addition that will contribute to writing a new chapter in the history of volleyball in the city.
Erik Stoev joined Uni Bari Volley's preparations this week, with the team's goal being to fight for a spot in Serie A3.
