The first match of the new A1 Series season offered a real thriller, ending with a 3:2 win for Megabox Ondulati Del Savio Vallefoglia as a guest of Bartoccini-Mc Restauri Perugia (108:110 points).   The American opposite hitter was the other key scorer. In addition to her powerful attacks, she also added a direct point from service, but a high number of errors (6) prevented her team from breaking away in critical moments.

Perugia relied mainly on two scorers, which made their attack predictable. Nevertheless, Gardini and Williams kept the team in the match until the very end, but the lack of sufficient support from the reserves proved crucial.
