Bulgaria and Poland will meet in Varna, where preliminary Group B of Euro 2026 will be played. This became clear after the draw this evening in Bari. Libero Damyan Kolev also participated in the selection of opponents, and his hand drew an opponent from the 2025 World Cup - Portugal. Bulgaria played an eighth-final against the Iberians in Pasay City, Philippines, and defeated them 3:0.

Bulgaria chose North Macedonia, and among our remaining opponents, we have not met only Israel this year.

Group B, which includes European champion Poland, promises to be one of the most interesting. Bulgaria will have a home advantage, and opponents like Ukraine and Portugal can also surprise. Slovenia and Italy appear to be favorites in Group A, while Serbia and the Netherlands will have the strongest claims in Group C. Group D brings together traditionally strong teams like France and Germany.
Bulgaria and Poland will play in Varna at least until the quarterfinals, if they qualify as expected. Group B crosses with Group D in the eighth-finals, which means potential clashes with France or Germany even before the semifinals. The final phase will take place in Italy, where it will be decided who will lift the trophy and receive a ticket to Los Angeles.
