Levski with a convincing victory over Montana in Pernik, Zekov watches his son's performance

Levski's men's volleyball team recorded its first victory at the traditional Boris Gyuderov Memorial Tournament in Pernik. In their second match of the competition, Nikolay Zhelyazkov's players decisively defeated Montana with a 3:0 (25:21, 25:21, 25:22) score.

An interesting detail from the match was the presence of the assistant coach of the Bulgarian national team, Andrey Zhekov, who carefully watched the performance of his son, who plays as a setter for the Montana team.

After the dramatic 2:3 loss to CSKA in their first match, the "Blues" showed a completely different face against the team from Northwestern Bulgaria. The team controlled the course of the match almost the entire time and left no doubt about their superiority.

Swiss opposite hitter Julian Weisig continues to show excellent adaptation to the Levski squad, being the main offensive weapon with 16 points and 3 aces. Gordan Lyutskanov's return also yields results – his 4 aces and 2 successful blocks demonstrate a leadership presence. Todor Skrimov's experience and the stability of middle blocker Lazar Buchkov provided the necessary balance and allowed the "Blues" to play confidently in all elements.

This was the second preseason friendly match between the two teams, after Levski had also won the first one with a 3:2 score. The match in Pernik showed the team's progress in terms of play and confirmed that Zhelyazkov's squad is confidently heading towards optimal form before the start of the season.

The last test match of the tournament is scheduled for tomorrow at 3:30 PM, when Levski will face the hosts, Minyor. The competition is a key part of the preparation for the Sofia team, who will try to defend the golden treble won last season – league title, cup, and supercup.
