Brazil finished first in Group B of the women's volleyball tournament at the Olympic Games in France after defeating Poland 3-0 (25-21, 38-36, 25-14). The South Americans also became first in the overall standings of all 12 participants without losing a single set. However, "Selecao" played the longest set in the tournament, ending with a score of 38:36 after 11 set points for the Brazilians. The last point in the record-breaking set was scored by Gabi.
Captain Gabriela "Gabi" Guimaraes again had the best performance in the match against Poland, scoring 21 points, all from attack.

For Poland, Magdalena Stysiak was the best, scoring 13 points (three blocks).
The South Americans had an advantage in attack (56 to 43), points from serve (six to two), and also received more points from opponent errors (17 to 13). Poland dominated at the net with 13 blocks against 9 for Brazil.
As the best team in the preliminary phase, the Brazilians will face the Dominican Republic, which finished third in Group C with three points and qualified eighth in the general standings.
Italy, which is first in Pool C, also remained undefeated, winning all nine points but losing a set along the way, ranking second. World champions Serbia, who are third in Group A with four points and one win, will be their opponents on the way to the semi-finals, as they qualified in seventh place.
China and Turkey, who are third and sixth respectively, will meet for a place among the top four in the tournament. This will be a kind of revenge for the Asian team, who lost to Turkey 3-1 (25-22, 22-25, 25-19, 25-16) in the final of the Volleyball Nations League in 2023. China finished as the best team in Group A with three wins, which brought them eight points, while the Europeans are second in Group C with five points and two wins.
Defending Olympic champions United States, who finished fourth in the overall standings, will play against Poland, who also have six points and two wins, but finished fifth, after the Americans, due to fewer sets won.
All four quarter-final matches will take place on Tuesday at South Paris Arena 1, starting at 9:00 local time (7:00 GMT), 13:00 local time (11:00 GMT), 17:00 local time (15:00 GMT) and 21:00 local time (19:00 GMT).
