China's female volleyball players are first in Group A of the women's volleyball tournament in Paris, after defeating Serbia's team 3:1 (21:25, 25:20, 25:22, 29:27). The third set proved crucial for the victory, after the two teams shared one part each. Serbia managed to take an 11:9 lead in the third set, when the first timeout came for China's girls, who already had 8 erroneous serves behind them. Several equalizations followed (14:14, 15:15, 17:17), after which the Asians made a series of 4 points (21:17). The star of our western neighbors, Tijana Bošković, managed to bring things to 22:21 for China. A block by the Serbians still kept alive the hope for a comeback at 23:22 for the Chinese, but after a back-row attack came the first set point. After a Chinese block-out, the victory in this part went to the already qualified volleyball players of the "Celestial Empire" for the eliminations. After an even start to the fourth set, China took a 2-3 point lead, which they maintained almost until the end of the set. After a service error by Bošković, the difference became 5 points (20:15). Thanks to their good play in defense and attack, the Serbians managed to equalize - 21:21, after an attack out by the Chinese. Bošković managed to bring things to 23:23, but China was first to get a match point. Serbia's star attacked, with the referee initially calling it out. A video challenge followed, which restored equality (24:24). Again Bošković equalized for 25:25 and again she was the reason for another equalization (26:26). Only on the fifth match point did China manage to close the set and the match after a deep attack by Yingying Li. She was the top scorer for the winners with 28 points (2 blocks and 1 ace).

Tijana Bošković was above all, finishing with a colossal 39 points (1 block and 2 aces), but this was not enough for Serbia to get more than a set.

Thus, China finished first, USA is second, Serbia third, and the hosts from France are last without a single victory.
