The Turkish national team continues its victorious march at the 2025 Men's Volleyball World Championship in Manila, having secured a spot in the quarterfinals after achieving 4 consecutive wins without a loss. The "moon-stars" will face one of the strongest teams in the world – Poland.
The official announcement from the federation
However, shortly before the decisive clash, unpleasant news emerged regarding the condition of one of the key players – Efe Mandıracı. The Turkish Volleyball Federation released the following information:
"After the match with the Netherlands, due to pain in the front part of his right thigh, our player Efe Mandıracı underwent an MRI scan. The medical team diagnosed a Grade 2 quadriceps tear, and treatment and rehabilitation have been initiated immediately."
What does the injury mean?
The injury is categorized as "moderately severe," with a typical recovery period of 2 to 4 weeks. This casts serious doubt on Mandıracı's participation in the quarterfinal against Poland.
Nevertheless, unofficial information suggests that Mandıracı will play against Poland. It remains to be seen if this will happen.
