Nikola Dimitrov, a long-time assistant coach in various national formations and an FIVB-certified specialist, is the new head coach of the men's team of "Osam" (Lovech). Dimitrov announced this to volleyweek.
The news was officially announced at the first training session of the season, which was attended by the mayor of the city, Stratsimir Petkov.
The mayor congratulated the athletes and wished them a strong year, in which the club would continue to build its name as a stable center for volleyball development.
Lovech Academy and New Additions
Of the current roster of 14 players, seven are local boys – graduates of the "Osam" academy. This is a clear sign of the coaches' successful work with young people in the city. At the same time, new additions from Sofia academies are joining the team, which will add competition and quality.
"Osam" competes in the "A National Volleyball Group" (third division), but the team's goal is clear – promotion to the Superleague.
The New Coach – With Experience and Vision
Nikola Dimitrov is a co-founder and coach at the "Lion Hearts" Volleyball Academy. His career is associated with leading clubs and national teams, and he is a recipient of numerous accolades from European and Balkan championships. He is known for a modern approach that combines athletic training and management strategies – a model that often leads to sustainable results and the development of young players.
Ambitions for a New Step Upward
With the recruitment of a coach with national experience, "Osam" clearly shows its ambition to be not only a team with traditions but also a club ready for a higher level of competition. Lovech fans await the new season with the hope that the combination of local talents, new additions, and a proven coach will put "Osam" back on the map of Bulgarian men's volleyball.
