The Bulgarian men's national team arrived in Fukuoka with a changed roster, where they will participate in the second week of the Men's Nations League tournament. On Japanese soil, our team is without Lyuboslav Telkiyski and Nikolay Kolev, replaced respectively by Svetoslav Stankov and Nikolay Kyurtev. Bulgarian coach Gianlorenzo Blengini also included another outside hitter - Georgi Petrov, who can also be used just for reception. A muscle injury to the starting libero Martin Bozhilov forced the Italian coach to take advantage of the new regulations in the Nations League. From this season, teams can register up to four reserves for each tournament. Bozhilov felt better after therapies during the week and eventually left for Japan with the group on Saturday morning.
In the second week of the competition, the "tricolors" will face Poland, Germany, Iran, and Slovenia in succession. Our first match is on June 4th at 9:30 AM against the Poles.
