Finland beat Korea and left everything to be decided in the France – Argentina match

Finland secured their second victory in Group C of the World Championship after a 3:1 (25:18, 25:23, 17:25, 25:21) win over Korea in Quezon City, Philippines. After a strong start and two consecutive sets, the Finns experienced a drop in the third, but closed out the match with a 25:21 in the fourth.

In the statistics, Finland dominated in attack and block, with Marttila being the top scorer with 25 points, supported by Jokela with 21. For Korea, Hojin scored 24, and Han-yong added 16, but this was not enough.

With this result, the Finns now have two victories and six points, which puts them in a good position for qualification. However, the situation in the group remains completely open before the last match tonight between France and Argentina.

If France wins 3:0 or 3:1, France and Finland will advance. In case of a 3:2 victory for France, France and Argentina will qualify. In the event of any victory for Argentina – regardless of the result – Argentina and Finland will take a spot in the round of 16.

Thus, in this complicated group, nothing is clear until the final whistle in the France – Argentina match tonight.
