The Bulgarian national volleyball team is one of the positive highlights of the World Championship in the Philippines. This is the assessment of coach Gianlorenzo Blengini, who spoke to journalists in Manila after the match with Slovenia, emphasizing the significance of the victories over Germany and Slovenia:

"We started strong, putting pressure on them with serves and attacks right from the start, but perhaps we were a bit distracted at the beginning of the third set. It wasn't easy, because I repeat once again that the Slovenians are not an easy opponent and put a lot of effort into the game. In the end, it was a good battle and I am very pleased with this victory."

On the team's spirit and mentality

Blengini praised the efforts and progress of his players, highlighting their consistent work and new psychological approach:

"I am very proud of the work of these guys, because I know how hard they work every day. This is how a never-give-up mentality is built. It's not about the next match, but the next ball. Every situation can change the course of the match, and only from a psychological point of view. This mental energy is completely different, and from now on we will analyze it match by match, because every next match is the most important one."

A look to the future

Under the leadership of the Italian specialist, the Bulgarian team has already secured qualification for the elimination phase. At the end of the group stage, a match against Chile is ahead, in which the "Lions" will be maximally concentrated if they want to finish the preliminary phase as favorites.
