Matey Kaziyski: I hope the boys show their best.

The legend of Bulgarian volleyball Matey Kaziyski gave an interview to BNT, in which he talked about his decision to return to Bulgaria and wear the Lokomotiv Avia jersey. The transfer was met with great interest, as the club from Plovdiv reached the final of the National Volleyball League last season and the ambitions for the new championship are even higher.

"I was very happy with this decision of mine. We have had a relationship with the club for a long time and my transfer here was completely natural," commented Kaziyski.

Partial participation in matches

The volleyball player clarified that he will not be part of all Lokomotiv Avia matches during the season.
"At the moment, we have agreed that I will not participate in all matches. We still need to clarify in which ones," he shared.

Expectations and ambitions

Asked what his goals are with the new team, Kaziyski admitted that everything is new to him:
"First of all, to perform well, because after all, this is a new experience for me and I don't know exactly what to expect. They achieved great success last year and what I hear is that with my arrival they expect even more."

No thoughts of retiring or a coaching career

Matey was adamant that he has no plans to end his competitive career, nor to take on the role of coach:
"At the moment, I feel healthy and motivated to play - that's the most important thing. As long as I have these two things, I will be on the court."

Comment on the national team and the world championship

Kaziyski also drew attention to the upcoming Men's Volleyball World Championship:
"We have many promising national teams. Honestly, I have no specific expectations. I hope the guys play and achieve the best possible results. They showed at the beginning of the summer that they can stand up to the strongest, which brings hope."

📌Conclusion:
The return of Matey Kaziyski to the Bulgarian championship is a major event for the volleyball community in our country. Although there are no clear forecasts for the development of the season, his presence in the Lokomotiv Avia team will inevitably raise the level of play and attract even greater interest to the NVL.
