The women's national volleyball team recorded its sixth loss in this year's edition of the Nations League. Lorenzo Micelli's girls managed to start their match against the world champion Serbia, which this year has an experimental squad, successfully, recording a set in their favor. Our team fought in the second part as well, but their strength lasted until the 21st point, after which they suffered a 1:3 loss (25:18, 21:25, 17:25, 16:25). With this defeat, our team continues to be at the bottom of the standings, having played their third match of Group 4 in the second week of the world competition, which is being held in Arlington (USA). Merelin Nikolova was once again on top form, finishing with 21 points (4 aces, 1 block). For the Serbians, Aleksandra Uzelac was the most successful with 18, and captain Ana Bjelica added the same amount.
Bulgaria was in the starting lineup: Petya Barakova, Merelin Nikolova, Maria Yordanova, Miroslava Paskova, Borislava Saykova, Maria Krivoshiyska, Zhana Todorova-libero (Iva Dudova, Mirela Shahpazova, Mikaela Stoyanova, Elena Becheva, Emileta Racheva).
The Bulgarian girls will play their last match of the tournament in the USA against Germany. The match is on June 3 at 02:00 AM Bulgarian time.
