Italian volleyball superstar Paola Egonu received new recognition for her leadership qualities – she was announced as captain of Numia Vero Volley Milano, and in parallel, she signed a new two-year contract that will keep her in Lombardy until 2027.
First experience as captain
At 26 years old, Egonu enters a new stage of her career. This will be her first season wearing the captain's armband, which she inherits from Alessia Orro, and her third within the ranks of Vero Volley Milano.

Since her arrival in the summer of 2023, the attacker from Cittadella has already led the club to historical heights – a Scudetto final, two Italian Super Cup finals, two Italian Cup finals, and two podium finishes in the CEV Champions League.
Achievements with club and national team
In the last two years, Egonu has scored over 1700 points in Serie A1, the Italian Cup, and European tournaments. But her impact far exceeds the numbers – she has become the heart of the team and inspired new generations of fans.
