MINT Vero Volley Monza continues its intensive preseason work at the Opiquad Arena, with Bulgarian talent Zhasmin Velichkov now actively participating in the training sessions. After the conclusion of the U21 Men's World Championship in China, which was met with interest by Italian specialists, the young outside hitter began regular training with his new club.
Monza's players alternate between weight training and technical exercises to perfect their form before the start of the season. Captain Thomas Beretta, who has been training since the first days of preparation, plays a key role with his experience and presence, motivating teammates and setting the tone for work.
The team is preparing for its twelfth consecutive participation in the Italian SuperLega, and head coach Massimo Eccheli is focusing on details to ensure the team is as ready as possible for the first match against Sir Safety Perugia on October 19.
In the third week of preparation, in addition to Velichkov, special emphasis is placed on another young addition – Diego Frascio, a silver medalist from the U21 World Championship. The two, along with established names like Beretta, Leandro Mosca, Jacopo Larizza, Lorenzo Ciampi, Aidan Tuga N'Gapeth, Ran Takahashi, Arthur Szwarc, Stephen Maar, Eric Loeppky, Gabriele Di Martino, Gianluca Rossi and libero Leonardo Scanferla, will participate in intensive training sessions until the first friendly match.
The first preseason friendly will be on September 12 at 2:30 PM against 'neighbors' Allianz Milano, at Centro Pavesi. This will be the first opportunity for fans to see how young talents like Velichkov fit into Monza's new squad.
Monza's training sessions at the Opiquad Arena remain open to the public, giving fans the opportunity to closely observe the team's preparation and new faces, including Zhasmin Velichkov – one of the names expected to get opportunities for development during the season.
