National team player Denis Karyagin has already joined the preparations of the Italian second-division club Pallavolo Macerata, which is getting ready for the start of the new season in Serie A2. The young outside hitter began training with the team, which will enter a competitive rhythm in mid-October.

The other Bulgarian representative in the squad, Rusi Zhelev, will join the team later. He is continuing his participation with the Bulgarian national team, which will compete in the World Championship in the Philippines from September 12 to 28.

"Bulgarian" derby in the first home match

Macerata's first home game of the season, on October 26, also carries a special charge, as their opponent will be Consar Ravenna. Thus, the match is shaping up to be a real "Bulgarian derby" in Serie A2, as three other Bulgarians play for Ravenna: Samuil Valchinov, Hristiyan Dimitrov, and the outside hitter with an Italian passport, Manuel Zlatanov.
