The Women's Volleyball World Championship has entered its decisive phase and the first semi-finalists are already known. Today in Bangkok, the last two quarter-finals will be played.
Brazil vs. France
At 1:00 PM Bulgarian time, Brazil will face France – the team that caused a sensation by eliminating China in the Round of 16.
Until a year ago, the French women were not considered a top-level factor, but under the guidance of César Hernández, they made significant progress. They were even one point away from beating Brazil in the group stage when they led 2-0, but "Seleção" turned the match around.
The Brazilians have their problems, but with Gabi as their leader (53 points so far), they remain in the world elite. The winner of this match will face Italy in the semi-finals – a team that eliminated Poland without significant difficulties.
USA vs. Turkey
At 4:30 PM Bulgarian time, the derby between USA and Turkey is set to take place. The Americans had a streak of seven consecutive victories over this opponent between 2021 and 2023, but then the Turks reversed the trend, winning the semi-final of the Nations League in 2023 and their subsequent encounter in 2024 in five sets.
The two teams are neighbors in the FIVB world ranking, with Turkey in 5th place and USA in 6th. The winner of this quarter-final will face Japan in the next phase.
Schedule (Bulgarian time)

The two matches have different intrigues – the first is a test of whether France can repeat its feat against an even stronger opponent, while the second promises a true clash of equal forces that could be decided in a tie-break.
