The 2025 Women's Volleyball World Championship in Thailand is entering its decisive stage – the quarterfinals. Only eight teams remain in the competition, vying for a spot among the top four and a chance to get closer to the medals. Today and Thursday, September 4, will offer four intriguing clashes in a hall in Bangkok.
The Big Derbies
Among the matches attracting the most attention are Poland – Italy and USA – Turkey. Both encounters pit traditional powers in women's volleyball against each other, and the stakes are enormous – a place in the semifinals. At the same time, the Netherlands and France will try to cause sensations against their favored opponents.

Poland faces another big challenge
The Polish national team, led by Stefano Lavarini, will play its quarterfinal match today. Their opponent is the current Olympic champion Italy – an obstacle that seems extremely difficult. On Thursday, the program opens with the matchBrazil – France(13:00). The French women are the biggest surprise of the tournament – they already took their match against Brazil to a tie-break once in the group stage. It is possible that this time too we will witness a marathon battle in five sets.
The last quarterfinal will pitUSA and Turkey(16:30). The American women are a stable team, but Turkey enters the match in excellent form and with a slight advantage, which could prove decisive.
