National player Martin Atanasov is leaving Galatasaray, where he spent one season. In his place, the Turkish team, which finished second in the championship, signed Canadian outside hitter Stephen Maar. Jiří Kovář and Ivan Zaytsev also left the team, while star Jean Patry renewed his contract for another year.

At this stage, all indications are that Atanasov will remain in Turkey. However, the possibility of him continuing his career in the Polish PlusLiga is not ruled out, where local media are mentioning him as a potential replacement for Mikołaj Sawicki in the Bogdanka team.

Most likely, the final decision about his next club will become clear after the end of the World Championship in Manila. It is then that Atanasov will turn 29 and will determine the direction of the next stage of his career.
