Bulgaria left for the World Championship: Blengini relies on confidence and concentration

The Bulgarian men's national team departed from Vasil Levski Airport for a 10-day preparatory camp in Japan, and then on to the Philippines, where the World Volleyball Championship will take place. Head coach Gianlorenzo Blengini emphasized before their departure that the team must play with confidence and respect for every opponent – without fear, but also without underestimation.

Team's preparation and condition

According to the Italian specialist, the preparatory camp was successful. The beginning was demanding, but gradually the intensity of the training was adjusted so that the players could reach optimal form without serious injuries. Blengini is satisfied with the work put in over the last month and believes that the team is working in the right direction.

Youth and challenges

The coach pointed out that for many of the players, this will be their first participation in a World Championship. The lack of experience can lead to fluctuations – alternating strong moments with mistakes. Nevertheless, according to him, a positive trend is observed: the gradual building of consistency, which is a key goal in the development of the young squad.

Opponents and expectations

Blengini warned that opponents like Germany and Slovenia will be far stronger than during the Nations League, as they will now rely on all their key players. At the same time, the Bulgarians must believe in their chances and use their energy and quality, even though they face more experienced teams. Even an opponent like Chile should not be underestimated, because every nation arrives at a World Championship with the dream of going as far as possible, Blengini warned.

Approach and goals

The Federation has not set specific requirements for the team, which allows the staff to work without unnecessary pressure. The main goal is clear – development and maximum concentration in every match. Blengini believes that the path to growth is one: to seek victory in every encounter and to extract the maximum from every situation.
