The Bulgarian men's national volleyball team is on the verge of a big challenge – participation in the upcoming World Championship in the Philippines. The final squad will be announced this evening by coach Gianlorenzo Blengini after the last training session from the camp in Samokov. This was announced by the federation today.

Road to the World Championship

The team will depart on August 30 with a flight via Istanbul to Japan, where the second part of their preparation will take place before the final destination – the Philippines.

Friendly Matches in Japan

Before the start of the championship, the 'Lions' will play four test matches:

• September 2 and 3 – against hosts Japan in Tokyo.

• September 8 and 9 – against the USA team in Hiroshima.

The Bulgarian team will seek optimal form in the test matches, and hopes are linked both to the experienced leaders and the young players who have earned Blengini's trust.
Alexander Nikolov and Simeon Nikolov will be available for brief interviews for the media before departure.
