French journalists from "Volleyactu" dedicated a special article to the Bulgarian Venislav Antov, who will play for Tourcoing this season. According to them, the young opposite has all the qualities to succeed the Argentinian Pablo Kukartsev – the team's big star for the last two seasons, who is now a player for the Italian giant Lube Civitanova.
Replacing Kukartsev is an almost impossible task – the Argentinian left behind records, a French Cup, and the fame of one of the most prolific opposites in the Marmara SpikeLigue. But "Volleyactu" emphasizes that Tourcoing is optimistic about the future with Antov, believing that he can fill the void.
The Bulgarian comes with an impressive resume – top scorer in the Bulgarian championship with 597 points, best server with 64 aces, and over 5 points per set on average. In France, they also remember his performance in the Champions League against Chaumont, when Antov scored 23 points and showed his full power.
The connection with Lube Civitanova is also interesting – while Kukartsev will reunite there with Bulgarian star Alex Nikolov, French analysts note that Antov is already part of the same generation in the national team, which inspires hope for clubs in Europe as well.
The task is difficult, but the message from France is clear: in Tourcoing, they believe that Venislav Antov can become the new face of the team and lead them to new successes.
