Manuel Zlatanov – grandson of the legend Dimitar Zlatanov and son of former Italian international Hristo Zlatanov – played a brilliant match for Italy in their beautiful and prestigious 3-1 (25-22, 22-25, 25-23, 25-23) victory over France at the Men's U21 World Volleyball Championship. The young outside hitter, who this season will partner with two Bulgarian national team players in Ravenna - Hristiyan Dimitrov and Samuil Valchinov, scored 17 points and was a leading figure in the "Azzurri's" attack, taking responsibility in key moments and solidifying the family tradition of writing golden pages in volleyball history.
Zlatanov was at the heart of the Italian attack along with middle blocker Pardo Mati (Modena), who also finished with 17 points and stood out in both offense and blocking. The two were the backbone of the "Squadra Azzurra," supported by opposite Barotto (16 pts.) and captain Magliano (12 pts.). Setter Mariani led the game with composure and precision, securing the third consecutive victory for coach Vincenzo Fanizza's team.
Battle with France's future stars
Opponent France also fielded a squad full of great hopes for the future. At its core was the sensation Amour Tezy Aolou – a new signing for Modena, who is already attracting attention across Europe.

Alongside him on the court also shone the MVP of the last U19 World Championship Andrey Yokhanovich and Tomas Pujol from Poitiers' men's team.

Despite this stellar company, Italy managed to show more class and character in crucial moments, turning the match into a demonstration of collective strength.
With their third consecutive victory, the "Squadra Azzurra" established themselves as the sole leader in Group D.
