Following a decision by the Board of VC "Dunav" Ruse, a name well-known to fans will take charge of the men's team for the 2024-2025 season - Plamen Hristov. This was announced on the official Facebook page of the club from the Danube city. Last season, the former national setter was at the helm of "Cherno More" Varna. Hristov has signed a one-year contract. Speaking to media in Varna, Hristov shared that he had intended to finish what he started at "Cherno More" but did not receive an offer for the new season and accepted the invitation from the Ruse team. There was interest from other clubs, but he preferred the offer from Ruse. The specialist was last head coach of the Ruse team during the 2021/2022 season in efbet Super Volley.
For two seasons, the "Danube" team was led by Krasimir Mironov. In the 2023/2024 season, the team achieved a double - winning the Higher League title, and with it, promotion to the elite, having previously won the Bulgarian Cup in the second division.
Plamen Hristov takes charge of the elite newcomer Dunav Ruse.
