The World Championship in Thailand started with… rain and flooded streets

It is known that at this time of year in Thailand it rains almost continuously. Humidity is high, and the weather is extremely unstable. The volleyball players participating in the World Championship encountered these peculiarities of the local climate from the very first days.

Videos are already circulating on social media showing athletes moving barefoot through flooded streets after torrential rains blocked traffic in the capital and other cities where the matches are being played.

On the court, all teams expect big battles, but it seems that outside of it, the task will not be easier - adaptation to the harsh climatic conditions becomes an additional challenge.

"They will probably get used to it over time, but for now they must be ready for water and rain literally at any moment," local media commented.

Undoubtedly, the championship will offer many volleyball emotions, but also scenes that will remain outside the playing hall - among them are already those of barefoot players walking through the streets of Bangkok, turned into rivers.
In Nakhon Ratchasima, conditions remain extremely difficult - the athletes face serious difficulties even when entering the hall due to the heavy rains and floods around the sports complex.
