Former national team and Levski setter Desislava Velichkova is the new coach at the "blues" academy. This was announced by the club.

She is a two-time champion and Bulgarian Cup winner with Levski, a bronze medalist from the European Championship in 2001, and a four-time German champion with Schwerin.

After the end of her competitive career, she started working as a coach. She has led various youth formations, and in 2024, she was the head coach of the U18 men's national team, which played at the European Championship in Bulgaria but finished outside the top places.

At Levski, Velichkova replaces Viktor Zhekov and Andrea Burattini, who have left.

"I feel at home, even though I've only been here a short while. Levski is close to my heart; I started at this club when I was 12," Desi shared.

The club wishes Desislava Velichkova success in her new challenge.
