Minior (Pernik) enters the DEMAX+ League with a women's team

Minior Pernik's women's volleyball team will debut in the professional DEMAX+ League starting next season. The news was confirmed to BTA by Desislava Bankova, chairman of the club's board of directors and part of the coaching staff, who is responsible for the women's division.

Return after nearly 30 years break

Pernik will once again have a women's professional volleyball team for the first time in almost three decades.
Bankova emphasized that the project has been a long-standing dream of hers, but its realization only became possible now that Minior's academy has enough well-prepared athletes.

Philosophy and Goals

  • The team will not aim for an immediate top ranking.

  • The main goal is the integration of academy graduates into professional volleyball.

  • The squad will be strengthened with six new experienced volleyball players, whose names will be announced after the official completion of the administrative procedures for their departure from their current clubs.

Preparation and Prospects

The girls already have playing experience - two seasons in Volley Mania (the amateur league).
Among the most promising talents are Kalina Vasileva and Emona Zdravkova - prospective national team players, regularly included in national team camps and in the extended squad for U19.

The return of women's volleyball to Pernik is an important step for the development of sports in the region. Although the goals are not immediate victories, the strategic focus on young talents from the academy, combined with the experience of newly recruited athletes, can provide a stable foundation for future growth.
