Montana attracted a player from Italian Grottazzolina

The Montana volleyball team continues to upgrade its squad for the new season. Just days before the start of preparations, the team led by Daniel Peev announced the acquisition of a new outside hitter.

28-year-old Aleksandar Mitkov (199 cm) will wear the jersey of the Northwestern club after a season with Yuasa Battery (Grottazzolina) from Serie A2 in Italy and a one-year break from professional sports (in the 2024/25 season, Mitkov was part of the Yuasa Battery (Grottazzolina) system, but played for the second team in Serie C - a level that is not part of the professional leagues in Italy, which is why the period is counted as a break from professional sports, editor's note).

International career

Mitkov has a rich resume in Europe:

ASUL Lyon VolleyFrance2015/16 – 2017/18Outside Hitter/Opposite

The table shows that Mitkov has primarily built his career in the opposite position, gradually establishing himself as an outside hitter as well. His experience in the championships of Italy, Turkey, and France brings a variety of playing styles, which can be a significant advantage for the Montana squad.
