Nikola Dimitrov – the voice of Bulgarian volleyball in the global scientific community

Bulgarian volleyball specialistNikola Dimitrov, founder and coach of the "Lion Hearts" academyin Sofia, once again affirmed his authority not only in the coaching but also in the scientific community. He participated in a prestigious international study dedicated tocontemporary practices and challenges in youth volleyball, whose scientific article was published in the reputable journalInternational Journal of Sports Science & Coaching. "Through this research, Bulgaria and Bulgarian coaches have a voice on the world volleyball stage, " commented Dimitrov.

Coach and scientist with an impressive resume

Dimitrov holds a master's degree inTechnology, Innovation and Entrepreneurshipfrom Sheffield University, where he defended his dissertation on the topic"Management of Complex and Chaotic Organizations in Southeast Europe"(2009).
Since 2016, he has been actively working as a coach at club level in Bulgaria, and has also been part of the staff of several national selections. He constantly participates in international projects ofCEV,FIVB, as well as in various training seminars and initiatives.

Contribution on the field: Assistant coach of the U19 team at the World Championship in Tashkent

In addition to scientific activity and management skills, Dimitrov also left his mark inpractical coaching work in 2025- he was assistant coach of the national volleyball team for menU19, who finishedsixthat the pastWorld Championship in Tashkent. This experience at the highest international competition is further proof of his competence and commitment to Bulgarian volleyball.
