Hristina Vuchkova will be the new captain of the team.

The coach of the women's national volleyball team, Antonina Zetova, stated that the team is ready to start strong at the World Championship. At an open practice in 'Hristo Botev' Hall, she emphasized that their first opponent - Canada - will likely be without its two leading players, and their preparation is focused precisely on that match.

"Elitsa Atanasiyevich is an undisputed leader, but no one is irreplaceable. Hristina Vuchkova will be the new captain, and the young players are doing great - with confidence and humility," said Zetova.

She positively assessed the team's performance in the Nations League, despite the busy schedule and long travels, noting that they were close to victories over Canada and China. The coach also praised Mira Paskova, who is returning to the squad after surgery: "She is a great fighter, and I believe we will see her in excellent form at the World Cup."

Zetova noted that the squad for the World Championship was chosen with a limited selection of competitive players, and the lack of enough personnel in certain age groups remains a problem. "Our goal is clear - to get out of the group. The most important match is the first one against Canada," concluded the head coach.
