Olympiacos signed former German international

Volleyball giant Olympiacos officially announced the signing of experienced outside hitter Christian Fromm. The German, 2.04m tall and born on August 15, 1990, signed a contract with the men's team of the "red-whites" and will be one of the key additions for the upcoming season.

Return to Piraeus

Fromm is not an unfamiliar name to Olympiacos fans – he already played for the team in the 2020/21 season, when he won the championship title in the Greek Super League. After this successful stint, his career continued with French club Cannes and Italian club Vibo Valentia, and in 2022/23 he returned to Greece, this time as part of Foinikas Syros.

European Experience and Accolades

In the last two seasons, Fromm defended the colors of Rapid and Dinamo Bucharest, being named Best Outside Hitter in the Romanian championship twice (2024, 2025). With Dinamo, he became national champion, and with Rapid, he won the Romanian Cup. The German also has two gold medals from the German championship with Friedrichshafen (2009/10, 2010/11).

Christian Fromm has played in some of the strongest leagues on the continent – Italian, Polish, Turkish, as well as in France and Qatar.

Captain of the "Bundesteam"

With the German national team, Fromm has an impressive resume – gold from the European Games (2015), bronze from the World Championship (2014), and silver from the European Championship (2017). In recent years, he captained the team before ending his national team career.

With the signing of Fromm, Olympiacos gains not just an experienced and high-class outside hitter, but also a leader with international experience, capable of influencing both offensive play and defensive organization. The transfer clearly demonstrates the Greek champion's ambitions for a strong performance in both the domestic league and European tournaments, where they might face Bulgarian club Levski.
