Alexandra Kitipova, women's U19 world champion from this summer, will play in her second world championship. The Maritza outside hitter is in coach Dragan Nesic's squad for the U21 World Championship in Indonesia in August. This was announced by the BFV. Other national team players who won the title could have been in the group, but Antonina Zetova selected four from the world champion team for the first team – Dimana Ivanova, Viktoria Ninova, Darina Naneva, and Kalina Veneva.
Bulgaria begins its participation on August 7 against Brazil, then plays against Tunisia, Chile, Japan, and Thailand.
