Martin Bozhilov: "I'm leaving the field, but not the team! Now it's your turn. Show your hearts!"

Bye, bye, VNL 2025!
Martin Bozhilov with an emotional message after the end of his participation with the national team this summer. From 2011 until today, he has always been an example of drive, spirit, and dedication.

Here's what he shared himself on his Facebook page:

“My participation for the national team this year has concluded.
I want to sincerely thank all my teammates and staff for another interesting and positive summer. I hope that I contributed to our performance, to climbing the rankings, as well as to the growth of the young players.

In every match I played, as I have always done since 2011 — with desire, drive, and maximum effort.

If last year we hinted at the potential this team has, this year my young teammates demonstrated significant growth. And yes — we were one win away from the finals in China.

Whether we should regret it or not — everyone has an answer for themselves. For me, the answer is simple:We achieved a great victory because we made the fans happy, we rekindled the spark of love for volleyball in hundreds of children.

And something very important —Bulgaria is back on the world volleyball map!Where we have always been. Where “Bulgarians, heroes” is heard again and world powers bow their heads.

Bulgaria is small in area, but it has a TEAM with big hearts.”

To the team:

“Guys, a World Championship is coming up. I wish you primarily health and to protect yourselves from injuries.
If you lose — don't despair. That's sport. You get up and continue.
If it's hard for you — lend a hand. Support each other.

Bulgaria has always been strong when united.

If you need a stimulus — just look at the small tricolor on your chest. It is only a few square centimeters, but it is huge because it carries the thought that you are chosen to defend the Homeland.”

To the fans:

Be patient. Be kind to the boys. Don't attack them, don't curse them.

Some of them are still teenagers... Support them - in victories and in mistakes. That's how you grow.

Every loss is hard to bear, butfaith and support from people are the strongest cure.

Good luck and success at the World Championship! I'll be waiting for you at the airport to come down with a medal.
I promise to be there! ❤️💪🇧🇬
