The Bulgarian national team for boys up to 19 years old will face the USA in the 1/8 finals of the World Championship in Tashkent (Uzbekistan). The match is scheduled for tomorrow, July 30, at 12:00 PM Bulgarian time.

Bulgaria and USA's path to the knockout stage

The young 'lion cubs' finished first in Group B, after recording 4 wins and 1 loss, accumulating a total of 12 points. Their excellent performance secured them a more favorable opponent in the elimination phase.

For their part, the USA team finished in fourth position in Group D with 3 wins, 2 losses, and 8 points. In their last match, the Americans defeated the Republic of Korea 3:1 (25:27, 28:26, 25:22, 25:19), thus securing their participation in the round of sixteen.

In the same group, Brazil convincingly defeated Cuba 3:0 and thus finished in third position. 'A Seleção''s next opponent will be France.

Potential path forward

If Bulgaria overcomes the USA team, in the 1/4 finals the 'tricolors' will meet the winner of the clash between Spain and Argentina.
