The Minister of Youth and Sports, Ivan Peshev, awarded the Bulgarian national women's volleyball team U19 with honorary plaques for winning the world title. The volleyball players and coaching staff are expected to receive cash prizes under Ordinance No. 5 of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
At a special ceremony at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, coach Atanas Petrov and his athletes were welcomed with recognition and gratitude by Minister Ivan Peshev. The team triumphed with gold medals at the world championship, held in Croatia and Serbia, achieving a historic success for Bulgarian women's team sports.
"We are proud of your success. Continue confidently on your path. I wish you health and inspiration to achieve your big goals," Minister Peshev stated during the event.
Support and recognition from the federation
The President of the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation, Lyubomir Ganev, emphasized that this isthe first world title in the history of our country in a collective women's sport, thanking the dedication of the staff and the efforts of the athletes.
Coach Atanas Petrov expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Youth and Sports for the provided conditions and support in preparation, which played a key role in the team's triumph.
Financial reward
According to the official announcement,the volleyball players and coaches will receive bonuses under Ordinance No. 5 of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, which regulates the financial incentives for athletes for high international achievements. This is an additional incentive and recognition for the efforts invested in achieving the world title.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister Dimitar Georgiev, Member of Parliament and Vice-President of the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation Petar Kanev, Board Member Dimo Tonev, and team manager Evgeni Ivanov.
